Congrats on the Airstream! When you go to look at TV's, you might want to look at the 3/4 ton bunch. And yes, vans make excellent towers. On the hitch, it depends on how much money you want to spend. I use the most basic one available, EAZ-Lift for a few hundred dollars. You can get a Hensley for a few thousand. Mine is old technology and so are the 2 sway bars I use but it gets me safely and comfortably down the road. Also keep in mind that your next rig will likely be a little longer and a little heavier so you might as well get plenty the first time. If you plan on pulling long, steep grades frequently diesel might be a good choice. If you are mainly doing short weekend trips with moderate grades a gasser will probably do just fine. Whatever you get, just try not to overthink it. You can drive yourself crazy.
