The eye isn't even supposed to approach Houston until next Wednesday. The rainfall totals for the next week are going to be incredible along the coast. Hopefully people in low areas were smart and got out.

Just upgraded to a Cat 4 Hurricane. :(

Those possible rainfall totals are what is blowing my mind. Up here, we think a thunderstorm with 2 inches of rain to be a lot!

In Vermont, with Hurricane Sandy, they had about 15 inches of rain and the state was wiped out. In Texas they are talking about possibility of over double that!

Newspaper up here in the Northeast, said that "Cajun's" truck camper was blown off the truck a few minutes after that pic was taken!!!

How sad. Hope they were ok and still managed to get out of the path of the storm.

Prayers for those already affected by the storm and those in the path for the next few days.

Here in the Northeast, 2" of rain is bad because it runs off the mountains into the valleys and causes flooding. Flat might be better, but then again, we have the tops of the mountains as bugout spots.

Texas has...further north in Texas. Godspeed to you all!

Does anyone know the story behind why this truck camper was parked at that location. It kind of looks like it was on the beach ?
If so, definitely not a smart idea. Our local Toronto TV stations keep showing this same picture.

I just read that shortly after the picture was taken, the camper was blown off the truck. Were there people inside or had it been abandoned.
The camper and truck do not look like a very good match to start with and so probably more vulnerable to the conditions.

Hope the owners are OK and somewhere safe now.
