Yup, a little snow on the shady spots is a lot better than tornadoes or rampaging forest fires. The whole family was whining about waking up into a smoke haze a few nights ago. We've got it easy when the El Nino is doing it's thing.
I hear ya'. I count my blessing and am thankful for where I have landed. No hurricanes (had my fill of that growing up in NJ), no tornadoes. There is always the risk of fire, but being high up gives me about 25+ degrees less than Front Range. The cooler temps help, but there is a LOT of fuel should a spark happen. I have about a thousand yards from any of my structures to dense woods. Not a guarantee with that distance, but much more favorable compared to others.
The worst I have it is needing to broom my camper on successive days when we get consistent 12" dumps.
I should quit my P&M'ing... it is just the mud season blues- not enough accumulation to snowshoe and too early to hike the trails.
Mud season blues?? We really miss our ex-home in Silverthorne!! CoPD forced me out of the High Country and now we put up with AZ temps.. Really do miss the snow!!
