I disagree. Doing a flush afterward makes a big difference in how much 'stuff' you get out, regardless how many twists and turns you have in your drain pipe going to the black tank.
Agree, that you don't get as much effect of water 'blasting' into the tank with pressure to do any cleaning of the sides. You only get that when you have a 'straight shot' into the tank like was the case with the experiment/test done here (or when you have a tank rinser of some kind installed in the tank).
However, once you fill the tank some with water and open the valve again (when doing the flush), you will bring that much more 'stuff' out from the bottom, that ddn't go the first time. The test done here proved that very well. The extra flush isnt so much about the 'blasting' of water into the tank, but about the extra stuff you get out once you refill and empty the tank again.
