It's not a valid test of the efficiencies of the antennas mentioned, especially a small, flat antenna. Just because the tester was able to receive the same channels on the TV, doesn't mean the antennas are equal. It may be that the signal strength of those channels, in that area, might be received by a coat hanger or paper clip.
It sounds like you did a comparable test in my book. Don't let the others bother you, a lot of folks merely spout off in these forums. Its a simple tv antenna, not rocket science. You hook it up and you either get channels or you dont, period.
The member you're disrespecting (SCVJeff) has the knowledge and tools to test antenna efficiencies and has posted his testing results on the Forum. - paddywanpeepExplorer
really... You also seem delusional. Go contribute to something you're good at. Any of the many technical folks on this forum, and there are lots, know that you cannot compare a gain antenna 15' in the air with anything sitting inside a trailer and say they are the same. It simply ain't true and you continue to show your arrogance continuing this. I'm gone..
Poor Jeff. I was simply saying that I saw nothing wrong with the way the guy performed his test. He said he was in a rural are,had 2 antennas and tried them both and achieved the same results yet you seem to not believe his results and ramble on. Yes it is not rocket science, you connect the antenna and do a channel scan and you either get the channel or you dont. I dont know why you go on about 50k in testing equipment etc... perhaps you are inept at the way you do it.
Regardless, I am off camping. Enjoy your holiday - SCVJeffExplorer

Spoken like a true appliance operator. Guess who enables you to be that way?
Jeff just stop already, you are looking worse at every post. - paddywanpeepExplorer

If the guy tests both antennas and says he gets gets the same results.....who's to argue? - SCVJeffExplorer

BTW- Welcome to the forum. But if you want to troll someone, pick them a little more carefully.
No need to welcome me, if you could read you would see I have been a member for the last 6 yrs. Yes you are a real BA with antennas, good for you. Or you could just plug it into the tv and see what you get, save the 50k. - paddywanpeepExplorer

Are you an antenna design engineer?
Very simply if you got the same results from a stick-on antenna vs. a pre-amped RAISED GAIN antenna probably close to 6' above the other one and claim they are the same, you are wrong. Go to a genuine weak area and try it again and report back.
I do Broadcast TV and Radio for a living and have done comparisons between RV antennas with gear costing well over $50k, and I KNOW how to use it, all results are posted here on this forum. OBTW- Winegard liked it so much the cross-linked my post to their website. If either of you are that sure of your "test", I suggest you get the same gear and post the results here for us all to see. THATS why I said it's not a valid test.
Geeeze...

Me neither!
If you READ what I SAID, I didn't call you a liar. I said the antennas are nowhere close to each other in performance, MEANING your test isn't a valid comparison of them. Chill...
I guess I don't understand why you think it wasnt a valid comparison? I was out in the sticks, scanned my channels, switched antennas and scanned again..so what isnt valid about that?
