Happened to me a few times. The most memorable one was when I came back from my first tour in Iraq. I had flown home and was picked up by my parents in their Class A at Kansas City airport enroute to my grandparents in Wisconsin. We pulled over for the night and I got the couch/bed in the front of the RV. A thunderstorm came through that night with lots of lightening and thunder. I saw the flash of light and immediate loud clap of thunder right over the top of the RV and jumped out of bed thinking it was another mortar attack and started scrambling for a place to take cover. My father (Vietnam Vet) yelled from the back that everything was ok, all clear. He knew what I was dealing with.
