- elijahsdreamExplorerIt did very little damage...2 tiny dents in the nose rail. But who knows. There wasn't any water intrusion. And being stored for 3 years, in a barn would have made that thing smell like a musty ole basement. It didn't. But the insurance co made their decision. That is why a new thread was started.

???????? :h - elijahsdreamExplorerStarted diff thread, the insurance co and I have spoken.

- elijahsdreamExplorerUpon your advice and suggestions It does appear the frame maybe the cause. I really want to investigate and photo it, but most of the frame is sealed behind walls. However, all of the damage and situations ring parallel to others with pin box or frame issues. So I believe this post should be closed. I may start a new one when the insurance co and I speak, as some of you have struggled, probably til the point you pull your hair out, with me thru all of this. And I can tell some were frustrated with me, and I am sorry, but I thought when I bought her that strict care and cleAning would be just what she needed to remain for a long adventurous life. Top notch attention to detail, unwavering maintence of seams with some expensive caulk. But no, I couldn't forsee this, ever. And I do not, nor have I ever claimed to know it all, especially about the inner workings of an RV. Now human minds and bodies, yes. That is why a few of you had to be blocked, didn't want to, but no one likes negative assumptions or accusations. Just friendly advice is appreciated. And maybe it wasn't outright, but pay attention to the way you present yourself. This place, this forum should be to support and inquire and to positively educate others. Life is too short to be grumpy or judgemental.....IMHO. So the waiting begins.
Thank you all again for your education of me, thats quite a job. HAHA - elijahsdreamExplorerDodge guy- man, I am so thankful to all of you. I l have learned so much. You know, I would have never thought that something like a "pin box" could do this. But you can make sure that I will talk to the ins co. Now, it makes perfect sense! Why the failures we're rather sudden after being in storage....duh. The big hunka metal used to pull it may be coming apart...therefor causing the separation, thats why the damage was smallish. Then the Einstein's said to just "leave it there, don't worry about it, we'll take care of it." And THEN the water damage......OMGosh. Yes you have all just seen the lightbulb go off!!!!!!!!
And yes, I do have a documented brain injury so don't go there. - dodge_guyExplorer IIYou`ve got frame/pinbox damage! plain and simple! tell the insurance and the manuf about this. with all the pinbox/frame failures out there I really can`t believe the NHTSA says it`s isolated! (yes people have submitted pictures of the failures to the NHTSA) these are potentially deadly if they fail on the highway. Have that front frame/pinbox area looked at immediately!

I've been suggesting that the OP cover it for days. They completely reject the idea for some reason. I've even been chastised and told that I am preaching to myself by others. I even suggested that her insurance may find it "failure to maintan". All to no avail.
If I were the only one who said that it should be tarped, you could be right, but MANY others have agreed that it should be. The OP wanted peoples opinion and then chose to do nothing. Tarping it could never have harmed anything. I'm done here also.
