This is the right answer.
It's insurance, plain and simple. If having it provides a level of comfort that makes you happy, it's worth every penny.
In my view, it comes down to the financial impact on the individual. If you DON'T get the EW and you have a major failure, will your rig sit un-usable in your driveway because you can't afford to fix it? While you continue to make loan payments on it? If yes, get the EW. If no, then it goes back to the comfort level you are happy with.
We bought an Xtra-Ride policy when we had our DP, because a catastrophic drivetrain failure at $10,000 - $15,000 would put us out of our comfort level. Now, with our Cyclone TH, there is nothing that can't be fixed for a few thousand dollars, so we didn't get one.
