Having been there myself I couldn't agree more ... but if you're not willing to go 1/2 ton then IMO you want a vehicle with no less than a 6000 lb tow rating. No, of course you don't need a dually, nor do most of us, but you'll always be better off with "too much" towing capacity than too little ... always. Remember, when towing any full height trailer it's not so much about weight but rather about wind resistance created by a wall that has all the aerodynamics of a barn door. Even an R-Pod which appears to have an aerodynamic profile will create a significant amount of drag at highway speeds and the best way to overcome that is with grunt under the hood.
