They say, "Buy your second trailer first." I say the same thing applies for the tow vehicle also!
Realistically you need something capable of roughly a 5000lb towing capacity. That will leave you with enough capacity for the trailer, its 'stuff', and some cargo and passengers.
What vehicle specifically fits the bill? Basically anything larger than an Escape. It all depends on your family's specific needs... If it's just you and the wife, a standard cab F150 will work without being too expensive. Throw in a dog and/or a couple of kids, and you're probably looking at a mid-size crossover or SUV, maybe even a {gasp} minivan (not generally recommended, but an option in some cases). If you have plans to up-size in the future, I would recommend jumping right to a truck or full-size SUV. Yeah, you probably don't need an F350 crew cab dualie (yet), but it's nice to have options... ;)
