Per another article, this was his last "hurrah" with a friend before he entered a treatment facility. I don't know if there's any truth to it but I'd say the old chap is a day late and a dollar short.

Glad the Judge put him away for awhile.

I hope for his sake and the sake of those around him that he uses this as motivation to seek help for his obvious problem with alcohol. Some times it takes a bottoming out moment to get drug abusers to seek help and turn things around, hopefully he uses this one and doesn't just shrug it off and end up dead like so many others.
