Friend of ours just won nearly a quarter million on a quick pick. Paid off his tractor and bought a used car. Govt took a pile before he even got the check. The IRS had an agent at the lottery office in Augusta (Ga) waiting on him to arrive. What would they do if you hit some major money? There should be some sort of grace period that one could use to set up something to keep they from taking such a large percentage.
What would I do with a BIG pay off? Big chunk to the Multiple Sclerosis research group and I'd make a lot of deserving, hardworking people very happy. I pretty much have all I want/need except good health for MsC. Making the load easier for some not as fortunate might be a good thing to do
