Honestly I think the RV salesperson should know as much as possible about their product. It is not their job to be able to tell you if you can tow it. If I sold eyeglasses and a blind person wanted to buy a pair I may question why but would not refuse the sale due to lack of use. I do think that we should be more informed as consumers or at least know enough to ask the question that needs answered. Often I have found that the guys in the shop are more than willing to come up and answer a question for a customer if the salesperson doesn't know. Problem is we don't ask. Heck I didn't and had a miserable first season towing our TT with our F150. I don't blame him. Our salesman answered every question we asked perfectly. He told us that our truck may not be perfectly matched for the TT but for the flat land we live in would do the job. It is not his place to tell us you cannot buy that because your truck isn't big enough. Heck a realtor wouldn't tell you that you can't buy a big 10 bedroom 5 bath house just because your family isn't big enough. I am not a salesman I just think that we do at times rag on them because of our past negative experiences. It should always be Caveat Emptor.
