Look no further than a Jeep Wrangler in both standard or automatic that will simply do it all, with the later JK series being the best of all worlds and after 09 they don't have a steering lock to contend with either.

You should first determine what your towing limitations are for your motor home and where you will be using the toad; flat land, hills or mountains.

I towed a 2005 Jeep Wrangler six-speed manual, 4 wheel drive. It was short, narrow and light weight. Suited us very well, especially in the western state's mountains. As some one else stated, determine what you will use the vehicle for when not towing. I sold the MH, but kept the Jeep. I drive the Jeep almost daily because it is so much easier to park than my large Ford F250. May sell later to save registration and insurance costs. I wish you the best.

Consider what you will use it for when not a toad, which except for full timers is the majority of the time. I needed a pickup to use hauling stuff around the house and selected a 2012 canyon four whel drive. Lite,no aux brakes, button to transfer case to neutral, no reqt for key in ignition to unlock steering, holds four adults comfortably and has a good pu bed to haul construction material, appliances, and pulls a boat trailer well. Figure out your use before shopping.

We were so pleased with our 2009 Ford Edge that we bought a new one. It is our dingy/toad as well as our only family vehicle.

THAT narrows the field! Therefore:
Jeep Wrangler (I would go with a Rubicon Unlimited. I used to have one. Great toad, great vehicle!) Any 4X4 Jeep Wrangler is towable four down.
Jeep Cherokee or Grand Cherokee. But, be careful. Some of them are NOT towable four down. It depends on the four wheel drive system.
Any Subaru with manual transmission. My choice would be an Outback or Forester. We had a four door sedan Outback. It was a good car, but sadly it wasn't a manual tranny.
There are, of course, many other 4X4/all wheel drive vehicles that can be towed. For instance, my current toad is a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4X4. I like it.
