Have to replace in 2004 National Tropi-Cal. Can't find replacement the same size. Can make new faceplate ,but would like to avoid the custom work.Any suggestions?Thank you..Sherry

Find a good car audio store nearby and have them look at it.

I recommend Crutchfield.com for any mobile audio. I've been using them for over 20 years and have never been disappointed. They can probably supply you with whatever adapter/brackets you may need.

I have no idea what radio you have, a brand and model number may help.However most radios are either single DIN or double DIN. Many replacement radios have a faceplate that is designed for multiple applications.

Crutchfield is the place. Your radio will ship for free, come with all the proper dash trim, mounting supplies, and mounting instructions for your dash. They are a bit more money then ebay and Amazon, but neither supply anything but the radio or technical support, Crutchfield does. That's where I bought my fully featured radio with SirusXM tuner that fit my 1998 Ford Four Winds perfect. They also include the proper adapter cable, no cutting wires, just plug it in.

You can use a specialty faceplate bezel like this or an accessory bezel that has a filler plate or pocket. Crutchfield carries these as do most installers.

Yes the Jensen units National used are 1.5 DIN so nothing directly fits as a replacement. I don't believe even Jensen makes a 1.5 anymore. The easiest would probably be to make the hole bigger so a double din fits. Just make sure and pull the old radio out and double check clearance in all directions before starting mod.

I went to a local car audio place to get a newer radio with an MP3 plug in.
Sony--$75 installed. About 20 minutes.

Sounds like you have a 1.5 Din. Crutchfield is a good place to start. I have also done business with AudioSavings.com both directly and through Amazon, their customer service is excellent.

Thank you for all the suggestions. Will spend the next few hours at the Crutchfield site.
Have already bought and returned one double DIN( too large). One single DIN(too small).
Measure twice, buy once!
