- The_TexanExplorerThe best forum to find info about the job is Andy's forum. There is a wealth of info there about the job from A to Z, just requires a little reading.
- roadtoadfloridaExplorerHow do we find out about Gate Guard Jobs? Is there a web site? Being retired I'd like to look into it. Thank You.
RT - The_TexanExplorerAnyone interested in working for the company we work for in south Texas, please send me a PM with your phone number and I will call you. The company is looking to fill several types of gates, but in particular, they have a couple that are restricted to 1) NO smoking & 2) NO pets. If you are a non smoker and do not have pets, or even if you do not fit that bill, we do have other gates, so please contact me and I will give you a preliminary interview and then go from there. This is one of the premier companies in this business and they require workers, not wannabe gate guards, but in return they stand up for their employees. Many of their employees are loooong(decades working for them) term employees.
- Mfar1234Explorerhow about single gates?
- waywardwindsExplorerdang don/shar that's a long time the longest we have been on a gate is 4.5 months. one of those gates is because e.o.g. for got us being there for a month during one of there head offce change ups. oh well pay checks kept rolling.
- Don_SharExplorerWell after sitting on the BHP gate for 1 year and 2 1/2 months they finally released us. We went back to the yard and GGS wanted to put us back out immediately. We wanted a couple of days to just relax so We are going back out on Friday. They really need help bad. We got a pay raise and have to wear their shirts but at least they are short sleeve cotton and not real heavy. I have had 3 different companies call me for guarding this week. They are all needing help bad.
- sportzfannExplorerTexan, thanks for the link
- sportzfannExplorermy wife and I are looking into gate guarding as a means to go full time.
I was wondering do the oil co's hire their own guards, or is that a security company exclusive?
This thread has a lot of good information and if you do a internet search, some security company's can be located. Thanks, sportzfann - The_TexanExplorer
