We did our "camping" thing - tent, awning for the picnic table, 2 burner Coleman stove, cooler, campfire. Being outside was fun. Slapping on the "camper's cologne", huddling under the awning when it rained. We didn't get far but we got out.
Now we're travelers. We go from place to place and don't really care whether we're inside or out in an RV park. Funny, I noticed that the more fancy the park, the more time I sit inside. No hookup national and state parks, I'm in the chair outside.
I'll make another observation; if the RV parks would take care of their picnic tables, more people would be outside. Some of those things are pretty disgusting.
