  • suspend/drop same violation IMHO.
just drop liability to state minimum and you will be OK.

On of the things I like about SF is putting the insurance on hold when you're not using the toad. So unless you're full timing, suspend the insurance on the CRV when you're not using it.

Track you have to be careful down here doing that. I can't say with WV, but here in VA if you drop insurance and don't turn in the plates first you are fined heavily, forced into SR 22 insurance for 3 years (at about triple your normal rate) and your driver's license is placed in a probationary status.

I have a feeling it's the stated use as a toad that may be causing this, especially if he was trying to get comprehensive coverage.

That could be, every state is different, but I didn't say drop the insurance, only suspend it while not in use. Only a call to State Farm will be able to tell him if it's allowed in his state.

  • If you've been with SF that long, your DD is probably on some sort of grandfathered rate whereas the new car is on a new rate. You'll probably get new rates from the other carriers also, but you won't know until you call them.
