Insurance Quotes

Like most of you, I like to shop for the best deals and RV insurance coverage is no exception.

It is my understanding that insurance companies also check credit scores which is fine, but I was wondering that if it will cause a "hard-pull" or inquiry on a credit report. Sometimes a hard inquiry will lower a score by a few points, and I don't want this to happen while shopping for insurance. Anybody have any knowledge they can share on this issue?

An inquiry will be added to your credit report each time an insurance company accesses your credit report, but, the inquiries are considered "soft pulls".

Insurance inquiries are shown only on your personal credit report. The inquiries are treated the same way as inquiries for employment purposes, preapproved credit offers, and requests from you for a personal credit report. Shop away and don't worry, there is no credit score hit.

    Thank you!

You will likely be better off adding the RV to your existing home, and cars/trucks policy. Often that will give you the best rate.

If you are concerned about a hard hit on your credit, ask the agent if they can do a soft check and that should not show up as anything negtative in your credit. If not, go somewhere else. You are probably looking at a non issue.
