Why should I move over so some clown cam break the law.
Cuz ... that clown may take a shot at you when he or she eventually passes you. You never now what will trigger road rage, which is becoming all too common.
Also, I often travel under the speed limit, so some clown or other type wanting to pass me may not be breaking the speed limit when passing me or after passing me.
The speed limit is just that ... a maximum upper speed ... not a recommended speed.
Now you see. that's why they pass you. You are going to slow. If they pass me, they are speeding period. But they are welcome to do it. I'm just not going to be part of it.
BTW. I shoot back, and yes it is pretty much a recommended speed, as most roads will also have a minimum speed as well.
Now when in the mountains, I do use the lane pull over.
I am like Terryallan, on secondary roads I travel with the flow of traffic, which heading to the Oregon Coast seems to be between 60 and 65 mph. I feel 100% safe and in control, if I didn't I would fix the issue that would not allow me to travel like that.
When there is a passing lane I pull to the right, unless the Vehicle in front of me is going slow. Once I am past them then I pull to the right. About the only time I have cars behind me is when I am in a line of cars behind a slow mover.
If you can't pull/carry what you have at 55 to 60, it is time to reconsider your RV or TV because you have an issue.
I feel that driving 45 on a two lane road with a Posted Speed of 55 is looking for trouble. If climbing a hill, it is one thing to get slowed down, but on level or down hills you should be able to move with traffic.
Do you feel comfortable on roads like this at 55 to 60 mph?
By the looks of the pictures I would have no problem on those roads at 55-60 MPH.
