Texas made it easy on most secondary (non 4 lane roads) roads. Most of the secondary had broad even shoulders and anytime someone would come up behind me going over 55, as long as the shoulder was clear up ahead, I'd move over and let those behind me pass.
and those fools in Texas expected me to pull my 30+ ft motorhome with a 17 ft toad behind it totaling over $150,000 over onto the narrow unknown quality shoulder so they could pass me with their $3,000 crosley?
I don't think so.

Gee bumpy. We pulled our 80,000lb, 47', trailer over on those shoulders, and let other trucks pass us. Way longer, way heavier, and way more expensive than a MH. However I do understand not wanting to do it. I always tried to make sure no one caught us on those roads,. Can't pass what you can't catch.
First time I drove into the valley on one of the roads where such things went on. I looked down the road, and 2 trailer trucks were coming straight at me. I thought OK no problem. Then I looked closer, and there was a big truck PARKED on the shoulder, on my side of the road. Guess what. that is where we met. 4 trailer truck passing side by side on a 2 lane road. We made it. But it was close. Dad sitting in the buddy seat. Said just as calm. You gonna hit this one. I said, I'd rather hit that one than one of these over here. But we made it. From then on. I made sure no one caught me.
But it is cool how they just move over and let you go. Texas is a very friendly place.
