I have used Pure Peppermint Oil soaked in cotton balls during the winter. If you have an infestation, the only thing that will work is to see where they are, and put mouse traps along their routes checking them daily. Be sure all foods, especially cereals and grains, are not in boxes, but in rodent "deterent" containers.
