That is because dash cams cannot show every detail of an accident. What may be clear to you or I can be made very muddy by a good attorney. In your scenario it was a business decision based on the cost to go forward and the cost to make it go away now. Unfortunately all to common even though someone feels they are on the good side of the argument.
