Usually I would agree with you but there are occasionally campgrounds that do not have a website of if they do it does not list much and will surely not have a layout. One I go to in Michigan is not even listed in RVParkReviews which I use for ALL campgrounds.
It is a small city park that is actually gorgeous. I will NOT give a review of them and they don't think they need a website for the campground since it is 3/4 full at all times. They are great to work with and we have 6 units going back every year.
With that said, there are some great ones without a site but like you said, most without a site are not too proud of what they have.
I am glad I've found this one hidden jewel in our home state.
