We have on a couple of occasions met and hung out with strangers for a couple of day while camping,but certainly do not go out of our way to create new relationships. I have sat across a fire from probably hundreds of folk,and most of them were forgotten within a week.
I am certainly not uncivil or unfriendly,but I have no pressing desire to create anything more than a casual relationship.
