Is Southern Christmas migration in process?

So, after working for this company for 15 years, I finally got to move to a window cube this Monday. My new cube overlooks I-69 at Fishers, Indiana. Not only is the light coming through the window wonderful, but now when I'm distracted I can gaze out the window and watch for RV's to go by on I-69.

In the Summer months, it's not uncommon to see an RV heading either direction on I-69, about 1 every 30 seconds it seems (For the last 15 years I've counted, traveling I-69 and simply watching from the break room too).

In the winter months the RV traffic slows way down. About the only thing I see moving on I-69 are RV's in transport from Northern Indiana heading for a dealer Southward somewhere. And in December that slows down even more. Yesterday, looking out my window, I saw none go by.

So, now, today sitting on nothing but conference calls all day, I've been watching traffic go by and noticed quite a few RV's in transit! More this afternoon than this morning! Yes, Motor Homes, 5ers, and TT's are on the Southward lanes! Been seeing one about ever 15-30 minutes pretty much all day today.

Folks heading South for Christmas already? don't know, but the activity sure picked up today!

We're heading for South Carolina after work this Friday. Won't be going down I-69, but will go around Cincinnati, OH on I-74 to I-75 to I-40 and Southward near Ashville, NC.

Meanwhile, if you're one of those lucky ones "out there" right now! Happy Travels! Hope all those RV I saw today are on Christmas Vacation already!

  • We are expecting a new one to be delivered within the next 4 weeks from that area. Lady at the dealer told me it was on the line being built. She is supposed to call me back with the VIN number and expected delivery date. I ask for it not to be transported in bad weather so it would not get a good coat of salt on the bottom but something tells me when it's time comes it will go no matter what. They already built it once and goofed it up. The first one was ordered and delivered in early November. Had to pass on that one and have them built another. The light bulb just came on last week about the salt up there this time of year. We don't have that problem here.

Maybe if they give me a delivery date you can be my eyes looking out window.
