A few years back I purchased a 3 year extended warranty on my $300 portable generator. Recently took it back to the local CW where I purchased the generator and warranty from and was told by the service manager that they were not authorized to do warranty repair work but for $165 they could check it to find the problem and have another CW do the repair work. Thanks Tampa, you just lost a customer.
