I think I'de be more upset about a $750 bill to drain out the bad gas!!!
It's nothing more than draining the tank and a new filter.
You might want to think that through a bit farther. For example, what does the shop do with 30 gallons of hazardous waste? Because that's what it is. They can't sell it. They can't use it. They can't even give it away. They have to pay someone to haul it away and dispose of it properly. And as the OP mentions later, there were other repairs involved.
Well I do this for a living. I`ve removed diesel from gas vehicles and vice versa, I`ve also removed water from fuel. I`ve never seen a bill for that type of repair exceed $300. Now the OP said they had to drop the tank and clean the injectors! I don`t see why! the only time I ever had to do that is when someone put sugar in the fuel tank. so maybe there is more to it. I`m going by what was posted. what the OP explained does not sound right. I think he got taken!
And getting rid of old oil is also hazardous waste. so it`s no different.
And I`m still trying to figure out why the OP brought this up and waited till the second page to tell us it was 2 years ago!
