I guess I am a "small" rv owner, with the footprint of my HTT being 24'. That said, I have no problem paying more than the tenters, more than the pop-ups, and slotted less than the larger rigs. The larger the rig, the more the expenses. As already mentioned here, larger rigs:
1. Mean larger capital expense to prep the sites for larger rigs.
2. Larger sites. Land is money.
3. Use more electricity and water, which over the course of a camping trip may cost the campground more in utilities expense than the smaller rig. My HTT fills up to 30 gallons fresh. a 30' TT may fill up to 60 or more...
4. Dump more waste. Someone's gotta pay to clean up the dumpstation.
5. More wear on the infrastructure (camping pads and roads) due to the larger size and weight.
I'm not bashing the larger RV's, but I'm ok with CG's charging by the size. Whenever I upgrade, I have no problem paying the additional cost...
