My post says the attitude voiced in the response drives cost upwards… that’s my story and I am sticking to it…
I did not say that is the only thing that drives up cost… that’s silly to even suggest that is what I said…
I have seen tents with AC running all day and no one there all day… with the rate of air exchange that tent has that is a complete waste of resources no matter how high or low the consumption of the AC is…… even though that wasn’t my point…
Relying on a window AC in your home on your dime maybe, but would you pitch a tent in the yard and keep it air conditioned while you were in the home and at the grocery store… I doubt it…
Since we are talking about context...No where in the context of my "attitude" do I suggest that people should waste the resources at their disposal. My "attitude" is that since they pay for the electricity at the site, they're entitled to use it. That's different from saying they're entitled to waste. In the context of the discussion in this thread, my response was to the question of why a CG should not allow a tent camper to hook up an AC. Sounded a bit elitist and "tent-bashing" to me. IMO he has paid for the site, so it's his right to use the electricity as he wishes, whether it's to hook up a window AC or to run a whole RV. I agree with you that it's a waste to have them running 24/7. Especially when they're not at the site--but I see the same thing from RV owners as well, so if your context was "in general" and not specific to the tenters, I can agree with you there.
