Seems like taking advantage of tourists over a special long weekend.
How much time would it take a government worker to clean up one campsite. Lets give him a half day to fill one or two garbage bags. That would be about $50 per hour for 4 hours. Toilets can be rented for $100.00 per MONTH. Security can be obtained for probably about another $50.00 per hour.
While the cost to the city to set up and dismantle the campsite may be high, the expenses would not appear to justify that high a price. I saw something like $800+ for an RV. Outrageous.
Not all campers are slobs. Some will be orderly and respect their campsite. They should charge a refundable clean up fee for each site. If the site is returned to it's original condition, return the clean up fee.
