Gouges on Slide Fiberglass

Glad to hear that. Im glad you updated the post too. So many times I wonder what the outcome was on stuff like this. I had forgot all about this post.

Well, I figured I would update this post. I guess the slide was out of adjustment and Passport is replacing the fiberglass panel on the side of the slide. The repair is taking a while but I am glad they agreed to fix it without issue.

We had a similar problem on our Blackstone. It was caused by two screws that worked loose. It was covered under warranty.

With the slide problem and the door gap, I'd suspect you have a frame problem. Personally, I'd not use the trailer until you can get it into the dealer and get this issue resolved.

Talk with the dealer and show him photos and insist that the trailer be fixed before October.

I talked to the dealers in my area and the earliest I could get in is mid October so it looks like I will be living with it. I just came back from a 2 week trip and the slide works fine, it just makes a god awful noise when it goes in and out. I also noticed the rear door (opposite side of the trailer from the slide) has about a 3/16 - 1/4" gap at the bottom so I don't know if the trailer might be out of square?

Betcha a screw has partly backed out between the inner and outer seals.

I noticed that the cable is very loose on the slide where the gouges are. That in itself indicates a problem with the slideout. I have the same type of slideout on my Sundance 5r. It's called a Bal-accuslide. My slideout was running out of square with the opening and tearing up the rubber seals so I took it in and the manufacturer "Heartland" covered the repairs under warranty.
Your manufacturer should also cover the rapairs on your slideout, as there is obviously something out of square or bent within the mechanism causing the gouging and loose cable. I also noticed the roof of the slide is creased inward at the edge which may also be an indication that it is out of square.
I found that contacting the manufacturer's customer service department and speaking with a rep with my vin number helped to get the ball rolling for an authorized repair at my dealer. Sometimes dealers will hee haw around for weeks before even looking into the repair and contacting the manufacturer for authorization. Providing your dealer with the phone number of the factory rep that you spoke with may save you a lot of time.
Keep us posted as to how this ends up. We all like to know how different manufacturers stand behind their products.

I would pull the seal back and see what's hitting it.

They will want to know with certainty what caused the damage... After all if repairs are made it could happen again. Did you place something inside to cause it? If I was running the shop, I would need to see what caused it....it should still be visible, if not I would assume the customer had something inside that rubbed against the slide.....

If you look at the second from the top and the bottom screws they look like they rubbed on something. I am thinking that they hit something inside and bent it causing rubbing.
