"Money above honor"? Not by a long shot. Is anyone on this forum more knowledgeable about the required infrastructure/amenities than the Mayor? The people saying the cost is too high are simply substituting their judgment for his....on what knowledgeable basis? While everyone can gripe about politicians all day, I doubt there's many city planners and risk administrators on here.
The costs charged are represented to be needed to cover the cost of the event, ergo, the cost is legitimate. Would it be more honorable for the taxpaying citizens (many of whom don't get a benefit from the tourists) to be assessed an extra burden to cover costs of the "campground" users?
