Quite simply put using blackmail and extortion to get what you already lost (twice) isn’t going to do it…
Let's just say for instance that there was a law in place like totally banning beer, wine and whiskey; or maybe condoning segregation. And to boot, lets just say the majority in this country oppose the laws. So if you felt with all of your being that those were a bad laws (A) should you just accept it and say nothing? Or (B) should you work tirelessly to overturn them? Just asking.
Don't be silly. "WE" the people voted in the last election and the LOSERS didn't like losing so they are throwing a hissy fit. A LAW has been passed by congress and the president and upheld by the Supreme court! The last election validated what the majority of AMERICANS want yet a small minority still thinks they are right and can't stop crying about it.
You're wrong about the majority of Americans - read the polls. But you are right, we are going to throw a hissy fit (or excercise our constitutional rights whatever you want to call it) and we won't stop. There will be changes made, you can bank on it. Just because a law was passed doesn't mean it's a good law. And notice I made my point without shouting and calling you a loser.
Yes and no about the polls just depends on how you read them.
For instance simply asking are you for or against Obamacare will get one response. Put the actual name of Affordable Care Act on it and it might get the opposite response. So what is that saying? Could be interpreted a couple of ways. Either way it shows just how misinformed the public is at least in regards to this subject.
Obamacare vs Affordable Care ActAnother interesting poll is when the question goes beyond simply whether they oppose the law but also asks why. When they did that they found that a fairly significant percentage of those opposed did so because they did not think it went far enough. The thought the law needed to actually be more liberal. If you take those numbers and roll them back into the number that support the law then you have a majority that are actually for the law.
