I have the same problem with the 3rd brake lite blinking and finally disconnected the LED Brake Lite to prevent confusing people behind me.
The problem started when I replaced my brake controller and changed to a new Prodigy. I believe the problem is caused by the Prodigy brake controller sending electrical pulses to verify the integrity of the brake wiring, and for some reason the pulse will blink the LED light, but not the standard brake lite bulbs.
Calling and talking to a person that represented himself as a technical rep for Prodigy was absolutely no help. Said he had never heard of the problem and that my 5th wheel was probably miswired.
Bottom line, 3rd Brake Lite started to blink after brake controller was replaced with Prodigy.
