Issues with RV Four Seasons

Took my travel trailer in to get some work done. I had a water leak when filling the fresh water tank. I also wanted a battery disconnect installed and anti-sway bar installed. I wasn't comfortable with drilling into the frame so I thought I'd have these guys do it. I read horror stories about Camping World so I went with RV Four Seasons (which also sells Starcraft and is where this trailer came from). Went to pick it up today and noticed that the battery disconnect was installed on the positive side. This isn't how I would have installed it. I would have used the negative side as I'm sure most other people with knowledge of 12 volt systems would have done. Well, I didn't make a stink about that but I did comment on it. When I went to prop open the door though I noticed that the metal arm did not lift freely. Open further investigation, I noticed that the female part on the door was bent with cracks in the door around the mounting. Also the male part was bent too. Someone tried closing the door with the door prop in use. They had to try to close the door pretty hard to bend it that bad. Manager said they'd fix it. I hope they do a good job. Somehow though I don't see that happening. Why is it so hard to get good service? Also, the panel that was removed to access the fresh water fill was not reinstalled. I can do that myself but, ****, I paid over $1,000 to them. Come on guys! Get it together!!!
  • Make sure you post a review at rvservicereviews.com and then find a good mobile mechanic
  • When I pay good money I expect good work. I would give them an opportunity to make things right, and expect them to. Next time if possible I would go somewhere else.
  • Battery disconnect on POSITIVE battery cable.....GOOD place for it.
    Disconnects battery to converter/dc dist.

IF on negative.......positive still has potential and just needs someone to touch a ground source. Then you get a great big DC current flow.

    I prefer disconnect on positive.

That's the way it should be done.
  • I generally don't pay anyone to mess up my RV. There isn't a thing on it I can't fix myself. Finding the part now might be another story all together.
