About 12 years ago DW and I took a January cruise from Miami to Cozumel and back. It was the worst cruise ever. Cold, rainy, they had to cancel the stage shows because the seas were so rough. They had barf bags and meclizine on tables at all of the elevators. People who had cruised on that ship several times said it had NEVER been that rough.
Fast forward to 2016. We took a cruise to Alaska. Lovely cruise. One night, we were seated with another couple about our age at dinner and talking. Somehow, the subject of the worst cruise you had ever been on came up and we started describing this cruise. They said "we can top that" and proceeded to describe their cruise. The cruises sounded so much alike, we compared ship names and sailing dates. Yep, they had been on that same cruise. Both they and we had never taken another cruise between the "ill fated cruise" and the Alaska cruise.
