It's amazing how much water we use

Well the shower faucet is a single lever in the Mh, from the factory. you turn it halfway, but really an indeterminent point, and it is cold, turn it just ahir more and it is right but just a hair more and it will scald you.
Impossible to turn it off and return it to the position you want. Not so bad when it is 100degrees outside, but most of our camping is done where it iss 65 to 75 in the summer, and you use the water from the tank. We are usually hooked up and most of these campground ue cold well water, or even the public water supply is cold.
As far as home they re all single lever, I think and it is the same thing.
yes it is impossible, in my opinion to use 19,000 gallons of water, in a month.
The jacuuzis or whatever, in two of the bedrooms use probably a hundred maybe hundred fifty gallons of water. We have 98 gallon water heater.
They are not used that much.
There were eight here during my Son's wedding, but it was only a week.
I don't think the bill for 19,000 gallons was that month.
Arguing with the Guy from the water company was fruitless. They read the meter remotely now. I don't remember then. The meter is pretty deep and a two hundred feet ,or so from the house, and I haven't even attempted to read the thing.
I was scared to death we had a water leak our side of the meter.
One thing for sure I've got good springs and if I can find a water powered lift pump and find a little extra money We will have spring water ,or I will drill or just stick a pipe in the ground and have a well.

The shower shut offs in RV's "by law" don't shut the water completely off but, the slow it to a trickle. So, no scalding.

19000 gallons !!!! :E My brother has 500 hogs that weigh 250 pounds in his barn right now and that is all the water that he uses.

I don't know how to say this without it sounding "snarky" and I don't mean it to sound that way. But, you really need to learn some new habits. I suppose you live in LA too don't you. :B No wonder they have a water crisis.

Edit, as I read back through your post and mine I realize I don't know how many of you there are using water. ? That would make a difference .

Figure how much is used every day in the US: 320 million people, an average of 60 gallons per day per person = 19.2 trillion gallons per DAY!!! That's a lot of water. It's a good thing this rock we are riding around on is two thirds water.

All of them that I have had and seen have the shut off.
Even the multi spray pattern shower head on a hose in our bathrooms here in the house have a shut off. The also dribble just like the RV heads do when shut off.

S&B's NEED to use more water. What goes down the toilet in the TV has inches to travel before hitting the tank, in a S&B it is 50 feet to several hundred feet of piping, just to the street. I have to clean the trap in the upstairs sink about every 3 years - of toothpaste - from turning the water off when brushing, and using a cup or two to rinse out the sink after. When we moved in, I replaced all 3 showerheads with low flow heads, but the girls insist on draining the water heater no matter what. I think the clothes washer has used hot water 5 times in the last 8 years... My biggest water usage is the pool, I evaporate 100-200 gallons a day during heat waves (the water level hasn't changed in 3 months other then rain, so it isn't leaking).

I left the water running when tooth brushing because I rinsed the brush 3 or 4 times. With a new-fangled electric one I don't do that.

It's extremely easy to switch shower heads, especially when they are at the end of a hose. I switched mine with a simple one from Lowe's. Works just fine.

Anyone ever consider putting in a foot peddle for the bathroom sink water? Step on the peddle and water starts, step off, and it stops. I'm contemplating doing this.

Yeah, I've never understood why all RV manufacturers do NOT install shower heads which have a handy shut-off valve AT THE HEAD. IF they did, we could get into the habit of turning off the water between the soaping and the rinsing,....WITHOUT having to waste water re-adjusting the cold/hot water mix.
