Jack stand extention

Due to the off camber/slope of the last 2 camping spots, the ball hitch was 36" above the ground level, after the dual wheels were dug down with the axles just about touching the ground, to get the DF TH level to use the reefer.

I would appreciate any suggestions on building a square based stand, about 18" x 18", collaspeable and adjustable for height of 18" to add to the jack, to cover these sloped camping sites.

Any ideas??

Don

  • Fizz,
I wanted to get AWAY from stacking wooden blocks up to around the 18" height, I don't like/feel that it could be a safety problem with the jack leg coming off the blocks etc,(withall the traffic in and out of the TH).

I am looking for Ideas to build a Metal Pyramid type stand about 18" square, that has an adjustable center section that will extend to about 18" and then use the jack to extend the distance as required, as it was, I had to cut 2-18" tall stumps to support the front end/side stabilizer jacks, due to the slope of the campsites, etc.

  • I simply used 2x8 cedar cut 10" long and made blocks like an Oreo cookie. A length of 1/2" plywood sandwiched between the 2x8. I have two of them and they served well.
  • you have an unreal amount of storage. Why wouldn't you just make it out of lumber?
Something made to collapse is not good to hold up a trailer IMO. Be different if you didnt have the space
