Jeep Compass as a toad

This is the information that I received from Jeep regarding towing the Compass. Dear Fred:

Thank you for contacting the Jeep Customer Assistance Center.

You have contacted me before in regards to towing your vehicle. I have
just received word back and would like to forward you the information I
have received.

The department has stated the following:

"Our records indicate this vehicle was equipped from the factor with the
following:

DD7 5-Speed Manual T355 Transmission

According to available information, the recreational towing information
provided in the 2007 Owner's Manual is incorrect. This vehicle, equipped
with a manual transmission, can be recreationally towed (flat towed).
Vehicles equipped with manual transaxles may be recreationally towed
(flat towed) at any legal highway speed, for any distance, if the manual
transaxle is in NEUTRAL and the ignition key is in the ACC position."
