We tow a 2014 Jeep Compass behind our Coachmen Aurora. Towing 4 down with a manual transmission works just great. The owners manual endorces towing in this fashion and according to our dealer does not effect the warranty in any fashion. The compass is the perfect height for us and when hooked up with our Blux Ox tow bar and baseplate is perfectly level with the MH. No riser or dip tow adapter required. The hardest part for us was finding a new Compass with a standard tranny. Apparently there were only a handfull made for 2014 all the others were automatic transmissions. We got the only one available in eastern Canada at the time. The 2014 does not have a locking steering wheel so the key is not required if you run a seperate 12V supply for the Brake Buddy. Otherwise the key has to be turned to accessory for the cigarette lighter to work. Enjoy your Compass its a nice light SUV 3100lbs with room for 5 and excellent on gas/fuel milage. It towes straight and has just enough resistance in the rack and pinion steering to make it corner and track behind effortlessly even on gravel and dirt roads.
