Several years ago, I had a 2006 Jeep Rubicon Unlimited. I made several trips to Moab in it, running the "slick rock" trails. Lots of fun.
I also made several long trips at freeway speeds, with either the soft top or the hard top. I found it to be quite comfortable. In fact, it was just as comfortable as the '06 Liberty CRD that I once had, and the '05 Grand Cherokee.
Now I have an '05 Wrangler Unlimited. I might make another Moab trip next spring. I'm thinking about driving it down, and staying in a rental for a week, instead of towing it behind the motorhome. With gas prices at over $3/gallon, it just might be cheaper!
I guess the bottom line is; rough ride is a personal feeling. Some think Jeeps are terrible, some (like me) find them just fine.
Say what......and it's never better for leaving your coach behind and you should know that. Especially if there's any depreciation per mile, left in it.
Besides, you bought it for the lifestyle in the first place.
No way I'd give up my personal bed and bath for a rental after investing all that money for my very own rolling motel suite....:).
