after just finishing our FL home state camping season with a 16 day trip to 4 state parks the dw and I noted 2 things 1. totally surprised at the number of very long trailers (like 30') being pulled...

Have you actually consulted everyone? There are those of us who feel that any outside lights at night are obtrusive.
A continual question for me is why anyone feels the need to illuminate the outside when they aren't even there to notice. The only answer that comes to mind is, "notice me". :(
