just 2 observations
after just finishing our FL home state camping season with a 16 day trip to 4 state parks the dw and I noted 2 things 1. totally surprised at the number of very long trailers (like 30') being pulled...

Makes me wonder about all those busy bodies staying up late and keeping tabs on who keeps their lights on or not...lol
I'm a light person..I love them...I don't run them all night and I turn them off when I go to bed...I like colors...I like fire...I like propane lantern, I like the oil lamps...I run them all. I use to keep a simple rope light on under the steps at night in case I had to exit the camper but stopped because I have an outside light I can turn on from inside the camper before I exit.
I usually have the propane lantern in the food prep area so we can see what we are doing...we are an outside food prep bunch.
I have the multi colored globes that you get from camping world...I hang earn on my 10x10 pop up awning. Pretty nice...gives us a sheltered place where we can play cards at night...going to change the bulbs to a lower wattage this year.
Generally have the oil lamps burning on the lantern hook provided at the site. Love the light from them...really soft light...I have two...the other generally goes on the dinner table outside.
When it's campfire time all the lights go out (except for the oil lamps) and we sit around the fire and enjoy.
None stay on all night...none...
