I had read that earlier from a different source.Maybe the term should be Bambitis?
Wild animals have their own mind and some species are more tolerant that we would be if a wolf approached our child, which is like what Mama Buffalo saw. Humans are a chief predator and most wildlife on. They don't have human pets and aren't interested in petting us or vise versa. Having said that, I'll now contradict myself.Deer ground squirrels, squirrels rabbits, deer..and a buffalo behind a fence approached me to have his head scratched. We drove through a herd of Buffalo at Land Between the Lakes in the seventies I think. They were blocking the road part of the time and we kept pace with them. I wouldn't let the kids reach out and pet them, even as one or two or three even brushed the vehicle because you don't know the animals temperment and mood and tolerance.
They were not looking to photographed or have their ears scratched.
