Born and raised in Florida. Witnessed some big gators over the past 65 years. I've seen 9-10 footers holding up traffic while basking in the sun on two lane roads; a chunky 11 1/2 footer at the Alligator Farm. I've even thrown a 4 foot, down and out, accident victim into the trunk of my police car for transport to the animal shelter. When I popped the trunk to retrieve the little cuss, he had been resurrected. Took me and the animal control officer 20 minutes to remove that joker. Those 6-8 footers are particularly dangerous. Not only do they possess a nasty attitude, but they're quicker than greased lightning.
