Just heard it on ABC's Evening News...

... so it's gotta be correct, right? In an article about the over-size alligators that have been cropping up in the South, they mentioned that gators could grow to "...nineteen feet, the length of the average RV." Huh? Say what? Sure took me by surprise, I tell you what. I always thought my Tiger was pretty small at 19'. Your thoughts?

  • Once while playing a round of golf I hit a shot near the lake. Just as I was going to hit my next shot a 5'er came up near the ball. I was sure glad it was only 5'. And yes he got to keep the ball. If that had been a 19'er I would probably still be running.
  • When I was a kid in Miami we used to play chicken with a pretty big ole gator in the canal behind the house. The last one out was the chicken, and let me tell you one look at the monster coming at you underwater and you could fly like a salmon. LOL

It eventually climbed a chain link fence and ate a couple dogs. It was carted off after that.

Well, it depends if they count popups in their average, then I can see it
  • I've never done a study, but think it takes a NON-RV'er to believe that an average RV is 19 feet, & you're right, I consider 19' to be small, but if it makes you happy, enjoy.
