Just read a thread on camping etiquette and dogs

In our park we have several acres that is referred to as the unofficial dog area. They have bags and drop boxes in these areas so the is no excuse not to pick up. There are also areas that dogs are prohibited in. These places are reserved for playing games on and posted as such. The planning was simple and works great for all the members. It seems the only problems come from the short stay campers but management has a good system for remembering who they are.
