I'm not trying to sound like a tough guy or nothing. I'm not actually. I'm usually a pretty quiet person and keep to myself. But i would never just stand there and watch someone steal my stuff.

Me thinks someone has been standing in the pasture a bit too long. Whole lot of BS surrounding these stories. Give us a link to the story about you shooting the escaped convict who lived in the elderly lady's basement for months before being discovered. That story would make national news. Yet somehow multiple Google searches turn up nothing even close.

Towing post about being over weight, in an accident and being at fault, would pale in comparison to shooting a thief, unless you can absolutely prove they were a threat to your well being!!!

The firearms class DW and I took (four day class) had daily seminars on when and when it is NOT allowed to shoot someone!! Right or wrong it is a life changing event, and if wrong it will cost you dearly!!!

I would add that it can cost you dearly even if you are right. If a DA decides to charge you, and a trial is involved, you can be out some serious cash, even if you're found innocent.

Actually, most thefts are done by teenage boys who live in that neighborhood (or whose friends live in that neighborhood).

The drug addict usually takes from their own neighborhoods also. The "professional" thief is much less common and goes to nice neighborhoods.

You have to be careful just showing your weapon. There are laws against "brandishing."

neighborhood makes no difference....whether bad or good....people normally don't steal within their own, unless its a newspaper or something...anywhere is susceptible...
