Mitch, some of those photos remind me of Lincoln Rock on the Columbia just north of East Wenatchee!!!
We live in town...a city, but it's so spread out it doesn't feel too "cityish". I figure that if a <1300 sp.ft. rancher on about a quarter acre city lot can keep us busy at home then what would we do with more acreage in a beautiful mountain setting do??? And what if we want some beach time or prairie time or...or...or??? No, we'd have to keep the RV if only because while we're out RVing do we really relax!!!
"Real camping" as defined by some (a tent, no electricity, hauling water, cooking over the campfire) is what we do while reenacting and while it's fun, it is a lot of work...compared to RVing;)
